May News: How Do We Use Photo Reference To Improve Our Art?

MAY 2013
HOW DO WE USE PHOTO REFERENCE TO IMPROVE OUR ART?

Is it possible to conceive an image and get it right straight out of your imagination?

Usually this isn't the case. We are creative people, but we need help. It takes years to accumulate the necessary experience to pull things from our imaginations and have it be correct. We have to be constant consumers of the images for which we wish to represent.

We will be focusing on your project this month. If you have an idea or goal to meet and need help we will have an activity based around figurative photo reference.

7-9:30 pm Mondays, May 6, 13, and 20:  We will open the night with introductions, prayer, and a discussion. We will then issue the May activity surrounding photo reference. We will pair up and work on our respective projects. At this time you may share whatever art you have brought.*

May 27: NO MEETING, Memorial Day. Enjoy your time with friends and family in memmorium for those who died for our freedom.

June 1: Art For Abolition art auction at the Salon Hotel Lilly in the Short North. It will open 7-10pm. The gallery is located at 864 N High St Columbus, OH 43215.
