October 2013: How Do We Rest In The Lord?

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. ~Psalm 91:1

During the final months of the year, I, Alex, begin to look back on the prior year and see what we have accomplished. This occurs so that I can see where the vision should be cast for the next year.

It is always Visual Sanctuary's goal to engage those in the church community and engage those in the art community. But there is something else that God is doing in my life as a leader. He is showing me how He is the Lord of the Sabbath. I get little pictures of what that means on a regular basis. He wants to transform my life into a lightning rod for His Kingdom, but in order to do that, I have to secure myself in Him.

But the Kingdom of God is not supposed to be ushered in by a select few, but by everyone who calls Jesus Lord. That is our testimony. That is the reason we were given creative gifts.

Psalm 91:1 sets the tone for the next stage of Visual Sanctuary. A real Sanctuary aka a place of rest and security brought forth. We want to make our lives look like the Kingdom and it involves every person. We engage the Kingdom and become that picture to draw those in who do not know Jesus.

Our monthly activity is drawing a silhouette of someone else. See how God formed them and let someone else draw you. We are each unique.

Come and be a part of what God is doing with the arts.
